I like how you did your rating system. Way easier than writing it all out in detail! A dog park will be beneficial especially for those in apartments like yourself and snowbirds with their companion pets. The biggest key, I believe, to bringing people into this town and to shop is to advertise along I-10, Hwy 90 and Hwy 80. There have been chain restaurants here that have not done well because I believe they did not advertise well. Quizno's was not here very long and it was right next to Wal-Mart. Burger King many years ago went out of business and they are right off of I-10! How is The Thing still open after so many years?? They advertise everywhere and make it mysterious as well as co-advertising with common things like Dairy Queen and Indian jewelry. They advertise at least 100 miles away in each direction! So that is one key, to let people know what is available in this town and then once they are in the stores, advertise heavily on the bulletin boards and in restaurants about a dog park. Some RVer might want to stay in Tombstone but they will decide on Benson because it is closer to the freeway and they might value the importance of a dog park. Very good ideas.
In this body paragraph you talked about how a dog park would bring business into the city of Benson. This idea was well supported throughout the paragraph which was very good. I think that the reason you didn't do very well with your hand gestures was because the camera was only on your face and not showing your hands. Talking to a camera is hard to do because there is no feed back so you tend to not make many expressions. So I'm sure that if you were talking to someone rather than the camera you would have done better in those areas.
Since I am the only one commenting on this it might be my computer, I had to have my volume all the way up to hear you clearly. As far as the rating system goes I liked it. It was simple yet easily understood. Your points are well thought out. You mentioned a couple of times that adding a dog park will generate income, I am sure that in the next couple of blog posts we will be finishing up our points and forcing others to bend to our will, so I am quite interested in hearing your ideas on how Benson can make money. From a personal point of view I would love to see dog parks in Benson as I hate to think of how many dogs are trapped all day in an apartment and get little to no exercise on their 2 daily walks.
